Kourtney Kardashian on co-sleeping with all four of her kids

Co-sleeping and bed sharing are still pretty controversial practices when it comes to parenting, although a lot of us have resorted to it at one point.
Kourtney Kardashian-Barker has previously defended her stance on co-sleeping after copping a bit of criticism for doing it with her youngest, Rocky Thirteen Barker.
But in a recent interview with the Skinny Confidential podcast, she admitted it’s something she’s done with all of her kids, well past the baby age too.

When she was asked if there’s an age limit for co-sleeping, she explained that it’s been up to her kids to make the choice to stop.
“I think every person’s different and every child is different. My oldest son slept with me till he was seven and just naturally wanted to sleep,” she said of her son Mason.

“I mean, also, part of it [is] like at a certain time I would put him to bed in his room and then he would come to my room.”
The 45-year-old mum-of-four explained that at around age seven, Mason just stopped and was like, “I’m done with you” but she said daughter Penelope co-slept with her until she was 11.
Kardashian shares her kids, Mason, now 14, Penelope, 12 and Reign, nine, with ex Scott Disick, and 10-month-old Rocky with husband Travis Barker.

As for their newest addition, co-sleeping has helped with their crazy routine, following Barker on tour with his band Blink-182.
“I’m on the craziest hours right now because of our whole summer of touring, but I think one thing too is that we sleep with our baby,” she added.
“As a mother, I like to do what feels natural and instinctual to me. And that’s for me what it is.”
Kardashian explained she has read into the benefits of it and added it’s something mammals have been doing forever.

Earlier this year during a Q&A on Instagram, Kardashian revealed she had been co-sleeping with Rocky and made a confession about his cot.
“He’s never been in his crib. It’s my favourite thing in the world,” she replied to one question, adding the text over an image of the cot.
Another post of herself snuggled up beside Rocky sparked debate over weather she was co-sleeping safely, but she doubled down on her stance.
In a follow-up post, she shared a snap from an audiobook called Safe Infant Sleep: Expert Answers to Your Cosleeping Questions, captioning it with a personal note: “Been co-sleeping safely since 2009, I still love reading/listening to more safe co-sleeping tips and hearing about the benefits.”
The book she posts about explores why many deem co-sleeping “unsafe” and addresses “common misconceptions” surrounding the topic.
According to Red Nose, the safest place for a baby is in their own safe sleep space, and they do not recommend co-sleeping.
However, if you do co-sleep it is important for you to know the safest way to do it. Here is the advice from Red Nose about co-sleeping.
